AVAFEST and the VETERANS SUICIDE PREVENTION CHANNEL seeks to assist veterans who are good at what they do and who need to be discovered because of their talent. TONY SANTA ANA (a US ARMY veteran), and his partner, Joe Louis Salinas, epitomizes talent as a filmmaker. For that reason we are featuring his Sci-Fi miniseries “AWAKENED NIGHTS SERIES”. CHECK OUR AVAFEST EVENT SCHEDULE to be certain that you don’t miss this exciting WORLD PREMIERE of a series you will never forget. We hope that they acquire the financing to create this authentic and entertaining series. We will broadcast 6 episodes of “AWAKENED NIGHTS" SERIES”on the VAWN, network because while veterans were serving in the military other filmmakers who did not serve were getting breaks and experiences that veterans could not get. Call this our way of trying to even the playing field for our talented veterans.

THE TRAILER FOR “AWAKENED NIGHTS SERIES” IS BELOW.

Each year during AVAFEST we single out veterans and veterans programs to highlight by doing a short documentary about who they are, their philosophy on life and what they do. I call them the “Eagle’s Feather documentaries. The Eagle is a symbol of America that represents honor, pride, dignity and protectiveness. Native Americans ascribe cultural and spiritual aspects to the Eagle spirit to their existence. Th veterans who volunteer to do these videos are brave and open minded people who have share their feelings with the world. These men and women will always be honored as a member of the EAGLE’S FEATHER Documentary circle of veterans.

“THE INFLUENCER” Hosted by Veteran “JAY VALENTINE” is a PODCAST about “MILITARY RACE BASED STRESS and TRAUMA”. The podcast is loosely based on an authentic veterans administration PTSD group that is offered at various VA’s throughout America to treat veterans for this particular form of PTSD. It is no secret that African Americans in particular, and other ethnic people, have been subjected to race based stress and trauma while serving in the United States military. Studies have shown that bias in every branch of the military not only affect Blacks, but Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders and more leading to disparities in promotions and other biased and prejudicial treatment.

Jay Valentine, as the host of this podcast is THE INFLUENCER”. He conducts interviews of veterans who have been adversely affected and discusses alternative ways to deal with the deleterious effects of this type of bias and discrimination that affects people of color while they serve in the United States military.

“VETERANS IN FILM TAKE 2” is essentially a showcase for some very talented filmmakers who just happen to have served in the military. These veterans served our nation both in war and at peace time while civilians were making a career for themselves as filmmakers. This show is to acknowledge the talent of veterans who are now trying to make a place for themselves in the show business and to lift their profile and talents for everyone to see.

This is a series and we will be working to produce a new episode every 1 to 2 weeks.
